Voice Chat & Music
Both of these are available to the Default rank.
Proximity voice chat
Simple Voice Chat lets you talk to nearby players using your microphone. Install the Simple Voice Chat client-side mod to use it, the server side is already configured. You’ll be prompted for microphone permission the first time you connect.
Music in voice chat
/music play <url> streams a link into your current voice chat group,
audible to anyone nearby in voice range.
YouTube playback is currently broken due to a change on YouTube’s
side outside our control. SoundCloud works fine as a replacement in the
meantime: use a direct SoundCloud link, or /music play scsearch: <search terms> to search SoundCloud instead of the default.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/music play <url> | Start playing a track or playlist |
/music pause | Pause playback |
/music stop | Stop and clear the queue |
/music skip | Skip to the next track |
/music queue | Show what’s queued |
Chat modes
Start a message with @ to send just that one message to everyone
currently in your voice chat group, instead of the whole server. Prefer
to keep everything in-group for a while? /chat group toggle makes every
message group-only until you toggle it off again. You need to already be
in a voice chat group to use it - it rides on the same grouping you
already use for proximity voice, not a separate system.
/chat near toggle is a separate mode, no voice chat group needed:
every message goes only to players physically within 100 blocks of you,
in your current world, at the moment you send it. If someone new walks
into range while you have it on, you’ll get a small notice that they’ve
joined the chat, so you know who can currently hear you without needing
to check.
Only one chat mode can be active at a time - toggling a different one
replaces whatever was on before, it doesn’t stack. /chat reset turns
off whichever one is currently active and goes straight back to normal
chat, without needing to remember which mode you’re in. Staff also have
role-scoped modes (/chat admin toggle, /chat builder toggle,
/chat lorewriter toggle) that reach every online member of that team
instead of a voice group or a radius, see Commands for
who can use which. Every mode’s messages are clearly marked with a
distinct tag and color, and never show up in the server’s public chat or
Discord.
Full command syntax lives on Commands.
